Logan County: Supervisor of Assessments

The Logan County Board is soliciting applications for appointment to the position of Supervisor of Assessments. The successful candidate should be able to start between 8/1/2018 and 9/24/2018. Preference will be given to an applicant who has passed the State examination and completed the requisite coursework. Experience in this or related fields, including real estate and civil service, is recommended. Salary will be negotiable. Champaign County GIS Consortium: GIS Specialist

The Champaign County GIS Consortium is seeking a full-time GIS Specialist.  Under the direction of the GIS Director, the GIS Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of cadastral GIS data.  Duties include the interpretation and research of property legal descriptions, management of the Parcel Fabric, development of GIS quality control standards and scripts, and implementation of GIS technologies.  This position will involve interaction with Consortium members, clients, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Geography, GIS, or a related field; Demonstrated experience with interpretation and research of property legal descriptions, the Public Land Survey System, and parcel mapping in a GIS environment; Knowledge of the Illinois tax cycle and farmland valuation; Experience with ESRI desktop software (ArcGIS Desktop/ArcPro) & Python programming (ArcPy, SMTP and other relevant libraries); Demonstrated ability to present information clearly and effectively in written, map, and graphic formats; Ability to manage time that allows for work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines; Ability to work individually and as a member of a team; Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal, and written skills
