Piatt County is seeking an individual to fill the full-time position of Supervisor of Assessments. The Supervisor directs activities related to determining real property assessments within Piatt County in order to provide a tax base for property taxes. The Supervisor of Assessments is responsible for the timely completion of the assessment process and the uniformity of assessments throughout the county. There are currently approximately 11,413 parcels to be assessed within Piatt County. To be eligible, an individual must meet all the qualifications in Section 3-5 of the Property Tax Code (35 ILCS 200/3-5).The county is looking for an individual with two years’ experience in the field of property sales, assessments, finance or appraisals. Additional requirements include: passing an examination conducted by IDOR, and possessing either CIAO or CAE. OR; member of MAI, RM, SREA, SRPA, or SRA plus current continuing ed requirements as prescribed by the designating association.

Cunningham Township is seeking a Chief Deputy Assessor. This position assists the elected Cunningham Township Assessor in carrying administrative, fiscal and clerical functions of the township assessment office. Additional responsibilities include oversees the department in the Cunningham Township Assessors’ absence. Reviews sale declarations and reviews yearly sale studies. Additionally, oversees discovery and changes on properties for residential, commercial, industrial and farm home site and farm buildings as well as assists Cunningham Township Assessor with neighborhood factoring and yearly cost factors.
Minimum Requirements include: a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent with six years of assessment office work history, or associates degree with ten years’ assessment field experience, or 16 years of assessment field experience, Four or more years of administrative and supervisory experience in assessment field. Should have knowledge in assessment procedures and tax cycle, plus knowledge of law and regulations pertaining to assessments, CIAO State of Illinois certification or equivalent is also required.
